Velvet fabrics are prone to static electricity. Are there any simple solutions?

During the final rinse, add 10 grams of fabric softener (or 5 grams of white vinegar), let the garments soak for 3 minutes, then spin-dry. This forms a monomolecular hydrophilic film, reducing surface resistance by two orders of magnitude; after 3–5 wears, no “cracking” phenomenon occurs.
